Property Insurance Options?

I've heard from a few neighbors that have CA FairPlan insurance that their premiums are going up due to "recent fires".

I also know that neighbors both on the canyon sides and up against brush have been able to get other insurance.

I got off FairPlan a few years ago and have a policy with Farmers. And my house backs up to brush.

Anyone want to share their insurance companies?

State Farm covers my home on Risinghill - but I am not on the canyon side. I used to be required to get Fair Plan, but in the early 2000s they agreed to cover me. Cheaper than Fair Plan for better coverage if I can recall that long ago! Jane S

Really? I got a quote from State farm and it was still higher than Fair Plan with additional add-ons such as liability.

We are on Aralia, on the canyon side, and have Farmers. I haven't done a whole lot of shopping around though to see if someone else may be cheaper.

We had Farmer's and they cancelled our policy a few days after the station fire, the jerks. But I will have to try State Farm, because Fair Plan covered basically nothing for the windstorm. We had to take out a loan to cover damages.
