A new post last night from Andy, a neighbor in The Meadows:
"I saw a medium–sized black bear on the lot of
the corner house at the top of Rising Hill Road en route to my house after a
short hike. He/She was very timid and brownish in color. This is the second one
I've seen this year in that same spot..."

We live on the Canyon side of Aralia and at 4am Sunday morning had a large black bear in our yard, a few feet from our house. We heard a commotion and when we got up and shined a flashlight on him, he tried to escape by running towards our front yard (but we have it fenced off) so instead he ran back down the Canyon where he belongs. Had never seen a bear so close to our house so just a reminder to be watchful, especially if you are out at night!
I live on Risinghill, canyon side Received a call from my neighbor about 9:30 P.M. that there was a bear in her back yard crossing over towards my way. Usually my cat would alert me, she is sitting close by facing the back yard. I did not see her/him...so far, have never seen a bear near the house yet,lived here 34 years....hope that continues...
